During our School Holiday Program Dunedin kids had a chance to experience a taste of different cultures at Maverick School. 5- to 13-year-olds learned about China, Germany, India, Jordan and Korea - geography, national flags, music and dance, and of course food!
Students and staff at the school were really excited to have an opportunity to sample national dishes from different countries. The kids not only enjoyed the taste of ethnic foods but actually learned to prepare food themselves - Korean "kimbap" (rice rolls), German sausages with mashed potatoes and "sauerkraut", Chinese "wantons" (dumplings).
We would like to express our great appreciation to the country facilitators who shared their culture and were very patient with the young students!
