An internship is a paid or unpaid placement with one of the local businesses. It will help you to practice your English language skills and gain New Zealand work experience.
Volunteering is another great way to practice your language skills and use your education or previous work experience in the new environment. Volunteer positions are unpaid and are available in many areas.
Maverick School provides support to international students by having foreign language counselors at the school regularly (or upon request) to answer questions in students’ native language. We also mentor our younger students and make sure they are well-cared for.
